Diesel generators have 3 separate power ratings – standby, prime power and continuous base load. A standby rating is the maximum output and can only be used for up to 1 hour in every 12 hours of normal operation at normal levels. A generator system should always be maintained at the required intervals which is usually twice per year for backup generators and every 500 hours for prime power generator systems.
Your generator system power requirements will need to be assessed by a competent electrician and this involves calculating your maximum load demand. Using this we can select a generator size in kVA that will be suitable.
