Your power is our priority
Our generator engineers are extremely thorough when servicing your diesel generator. We work using a servicing checklist that contains over 70 individual check to make during your generator service.
This generator service checklist contains a combination of mechanical checks for the engine in addition to a range of electrical checks and tests that ensure correct operation, electrical safety and protection for the engine.
By adopting a thorough approach to generator maintenance, we can bring any potential issues to your attention before they become a major cause for concern or point of failure.
This allows repairs to be planned in at your convenience to minimize disruption to your operations.
If you would like to know more about any specific checks we make during our service visit please contact us.
We can also provide load bank testing inclusive of your generator service agreement or as an additional service should this be required.

Most diesel generators will require a service between 250-500hrs or every 12 months. We recommend testing your generator regularly to ensure it is functioning correctly and to prevent any nasty surprises when you lose power. This can be done weekly or monthly as a simple 5 minute test. Ask us for more information about this.
In our experience most people who try to service their generator themselves will not be thorough enough to spot potential failures. The basic service requirements of replacing oil and filters is simple enough, but there are many things that we check such as engine protection functions, alternator checks, battery testing etc that only an experience technician will know how to do correctly. We recommend always engaging a competent generator service company near you.
Generator oil should be replaced every 500 hours for diesel generators or done every year. In standby generators this can be extended by sampling and testing the oil to ensure it is not contaminated. After time, generator oil degrades during use and loses its lubricating properties and cooling properties, resulting in engine wear which can cause engine failure.
Standby generators can be serviced without any disruption to your power supply or operations. It is completely non-intrusive. Servicing of your generator being used daily for powering machinery will need to be planned around usage. We are flexible and can work with you to find a time that suits you best.
A typical generator service carried out at your workplace will usually range from £300 upwards. This price increases as the size of the generator increases as the service will take longer to carry out.
Service costs vary depending on the level of generator service performed. A minor generator service includes a full inspection and test and report. A major service includes oil change, wet filter replacement and sometimes other works such as battery changes, belts and coolant etc.
The distance travelling to your site will also affect the price so it is important to use a generator service company near you.
