The Cat XQP115 is a 115 kVA (92 kW) Stage V diesel generator designed to provide reliable 50 Hz three-phase power for demanding UK sites. It is driven by the proven Cat C4.4 turbocharged-aftercooled engine, which offers strong performance, good fuel economy and a compact footprint for straightforward installation. This model is well suited to industrial, commercial and construction users who need dependable, low-emission power at standard 400/230 V.

Heavy-duty base and fuel system

This Caterpillar generator is built on a robust steel baseframe incorporating a dual-wall fuel tank sized to deliver around 24 hours of runtime at typical 75% prime load. Integrated drag points, skid plates and forklift pockets make positioning and moving the set around site easier. The base provides 110% containment for on-board fluids and can be configured to work with external fuel supplies where extended runtime is required.

Control, monitoring and protection

An XQCP digital controller manages engine and alternator operation, while providing full power metering and configurable alarms. Operators have access to a clear interface, emergency stop and automatic shutdowns for key parameters to help protect the generator and connected loads. Two-wire remote start and auxiliary power connections allow simple integration into automatic transfer systems for backup or mains support applications.

Alternator and voltage regulation

The XQP115 uses an LC3114F brushless alternator with Class H insulation and IP23 protection to withstand harsh environments. A three-phase sensing AVR maintains consistent output voltage under changing load conditions and offers adjustable volts-per-hertz regulation. The 12-lead design allows flexible three-phase reconnection and provides low waveform distortion suitable for many sensitive devices.

The galvanized, powder-coated acoustic enclosure is lined with sound-absorbing materials to keep external noise levels low, making the generator suitable for use near workplaces or populated areas. Its dual-wall tank and bund alarm help reduce environmental risk by containing spills, while the engine and aftertreatment are engineered to meet strict EU Stage V emissions limits. The unit is specified for ultra low sulphur diesel fuel and can be used with approved biodiesel blends where required.
