The Cat XQP200 is a 200 kVA (160 kW) Stage V diesel generator designed to provide robust 50 Hz three-phase power for UK sites. It combines a heavy-duty Cat diesel engine with a high-performance alternator to deliver reliable power at standard 400/230 V. This set is aimed at industrial, commercial and construction users who need dependable low-emission power for primary or backup applications.

Heavy-duty base and fuel system

The generator is built on a rugged steel baseframe that incorporates a large dual-wall fuel tank to give long runtimes at typical site loads. The base provides integrated drag points and lifting features to make positioning the unit easier on busy sites. Dual-wall construction and 110% containment help manage spills and protect the environment in sensitive locations.

Control, monitoring and protection

A digital generator controller manages both engine and alternator functions while providing full power metering and alarm indication. Operators have access to a clear front panel interface, emergency stop and a range of configurable shutdowns to protect the generator and connected loads. Two-wire remote start capability allows straightforward integration with automatic transfer switches for standby or mains support duties.

Alternator and voltage regulation

The XQP200 uses a brushless, self-excited alternator designed to match the engine output and withstand continuous use. Class H insulation, IP23 protection and a three-phase sensing AVR provide stable voltage and low waveform distortion for sensitive electrical loads. The alternator design supports standard three-phase 400/230 V operation at 50 Hz with a power factor of 0.8.

Noise and environmental performance

The galvanized acoustic enclosure is powder-coated and lined with sound-absorbing materials to keep external noise levels low. This makes the generator suitable for use close to work areas, industrial premises and many commercial locations. The Stage V emissions package and fully bunded base tank support environmentally responsible operation with ultra low sulphur diesel fuel.
