The Cat XQP60 is a 60 kVA diesel generator (48 kW) Stage V engineered to provide reliable 50 Hz three-phase power for demanding UK applications. It is powered by the Cat C3.6 common rail diesel engine, which combines strong performance, excellent fuel economy and compact dimensions for easy installation. This model is suitable for industrial, commercial and construction users who need dependable, low-emission power at standard UK voltages.
This Caterpillar generator is mounted on a heavy-duty steel baseframe with a dual-wall fuel tank sized to provide around 24 hours of runtime at 75% prime load. The base offers integrated drag points, skid plates and forklift pockets to simplify positioning on site. A 3‑way valve and auxiliary fuel connections allow straightforward integration with external bulk fuel tanks where longer runtimes are required.
An XQCP digital control panel provides full engine and alternator monitoring, power metering and configurable protection functions. Operators benefit from a clear, user-friendly interface and an emergency stop, with alarms and shutdowns for conditions such as low coolant level and other critical parameters. Two‑wire remote start/stop and AC auxiliary power connections make it simple to integrate this set into automatic transfer systems for backup power.
The XQP60 uses a Cat M1775L4 brushless alternator with Class H insulation, IP23 protection and coastal insulation treatment. It features three‑phase sensing and an automatic voltage regulator with adjustable volts-per-hertz control to maintain stable output under changing loads. The design delivers low waveform distortion, making it suitable for a wide range of site equipment and sensitive loads.
The galvanized, powder-coated acoustic enclosure is lined with precision-cut insulation to achieve low external noise levels, helping the generator blend into urban and commercial environments. The dual-wall base tank provides 110% containment of on-board fluids and includes a bund level alarm to help protect against spills. The engine meets EU Stage V emissions requirements and is designed for use with ultra low sulphur diesel fuel.
This 60 kVA Stage V generator is well suited to commercial premises, construction sites, light industrial facilities and events requiring three-phase power at 400/230 V. It can also operate as a standby generator for small buildings, site services or critical plant when installed with an appropriate automatic transfer switch.
