Held on the first Saturday of each month at The Old Chemist in Bitterne Park Triangle from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, the LEGO Breakfast provides a safe and relaxing environment which encourages fathers, grandfathers, and male carers to spend quality time with their children aged 3 to 8 years.
For just a £1 contribution, the friendly environment supports men in building community relationships and addresses the often-overlooked need for male-focused community activities.

Attendees can enjoy quality time together, building with LEGO bricks while tucking into complimentary bacon sandwiches, coffee, and juice, and chatting with like-minded peers.
The LEGO Breakfast comes at a time when men’s mental health crises are on the rise, with recent reports revealing that 77% of men have experienced symptoms of common mental health conditions such as anxiety, stress, or depression.
“Even more concerning is that suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50 in the UK, with men being three times more likely to die by suicide than women,” said Paul.
“However, almost half of men have never spoken to anyone about their mental health, with 29% feeling too embarrassed and 20% citing negative stigma as reasons. With these numbers on the rise, it is clear that this issue to be addressed head-on, starting from the ground up.”

Paul continued: “As someone who believes in the power of community, I spoke with some of the guys and thought about what I could do to help support the significant mental health challenges faced by men in the UK. We need continued efforts to encourage open discussions and access to mental health support.”
“We love LEGO because it’s not only fun for children but also an excellent mindfulness tool,” said Paul.
“Evidence shows that LEGO can help reduce stress and anxiety, allowing builders to enter a meditative state with reduced overthinking as they concentrate on their models.
“There’s also a wonderful sense of camaraderie between both adults and children when they are building together. We see many brilliant connections and examples of teamwork, which are essential for building strong community bonds.
“The benefits are endless—from boosting self-esteem and confidence to supporting those with autism or communication difficulties, these humble bricks can make a huge difference.”
